It is the perfect time for Rose

Posted by Stephen Lott on

At Lottsofwine we are very lucky to work with some of the best Rose Producers, in France and Italy. From Chateau L'Aumerade based in the heart of Provence with their Grenache blend which expresses lots of fruit but with elegance, to the wonderful Chateau du Campuget, near Nimes in the Southern Rhone with their '1753' Rose which is a blend of Syrah and Vermentino to their entry wine 'Invitation' which is a blend of Syrah and Grenache. Near to Aix-en-Provence you will find the fantastic winery of Mas de Cadenet who specialise in making Rose wine, their Grenache blend with Cinsault and Syrah is the reason, Provencal rose is so sought after. Italy is often overlooked for its Rose wines but in San Marzano, Puglia, their Tramari which is made from the Primitivo grape, the taste of red cherries against the creamy background of the Mediterranean spice works perfectly together.
