Faultline, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, N.Z.
There are many great Sauvignon Blanc’s from New Zealand and this is certainly one of them. This vineyard was founded by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, of St Clair Estates. One of the great aspects of this wine is that it has plenty of the tropical fruit you would expect, it is nicely balanced by the herbaceous characters, therefore the grapefruit and lime flavours are not too overpowering. It is named after a large earthquake that happened in 1848 in the Awatere valley (Marlborough) thus providing excellent free draining soils for this lovely grape to shine.
