Haras De Pirque, Albis, Carménère/Cabernet Sauvignon, Maipo, Central Valley, Chile 2020

Owned by the Antinori family, Haras de Pirque winery is located in the northern part of the Maipo Province in central Chile in an area that enjoys extremely favourable climatic and geographic conditions and is already well known for its production of high quality wines. The vineyards are surrounded by the estate’s thoroughbred racetrack and breeding farm and the state-of-the-art horseshoe shaped winery. The vineyards grow at an altitude of 550 to 650 meters (1804-2132 feet) above sea level south of the Maipo River on the lower slopes of the Andes’ foothills. This is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Carmenere.

Albis is a wine that, when opened in the glass, reveals the territory of Pirque: notes of spices, coffee, hints of smoke and black fruits. In the mouth you can feel its elegance, the finesse and length of its pleasant tannins. It is a wine that recalls the cold nights of Pirque and the characteristics of a unique place.

Ideal with marinated meats such as lamb or beef, slow-cooked meats and aged cheeses. It goes wonderfully with spicy dishes, with mint and even desserts with a good dark chocolate.
