Galantas represents the ultimate expression of Cabernet Franc in the Maipo Andes Valley. A wine capable of expressing the vibrant elegance and finesse of this variety in this unique terroir. Violet red in colour. Intense aromas of black fruits such as blueberries and blackberries. In the mouth it is smooth, with pleasant tannins and a wide and persistent mouthfeel. Owned by the Antinori family, Haras de Pirque winery is located in the northern part of the Maipo Province in central Chile in an area that enjoys extremely favourable climatic and geographic conditions and is already well known for its production of high quality wines. The vineyards are surrounded by the estate’s thoroughbred racetrack and breeding farm and the state-of-the-art horseshoe shaped winery. The vineyards grow at an altitude of 550 to 650 meters (1804-2132 feet) above sea level south of the Maipo River on the lower slopes of the Andes’ foothills. This is 100% Cabernet Franc.
Galantas is red tending towards purple in colour. The nose is spicy and fresh: notes of tobacco and roasted coffee merge with hints of dark berries. The palate is elegant with excellent structure and is defined by pleasant tannins accented by aromas of dark fruit, cassis, hints of graphite and spicy fresh notes. A classic wine from the Maipo Andes Valley.
Ideal with game, meat dishes and stuffed pasta.
