Domaine Chanson was founded in 1750, and the medieval Bastion at the heart of the Domaine and Beaune is dedicated purely to the ageing and safeguarding of its wines from the 45 hectares of Premier and Grand Cru vineyards. The four storey high structure, with 8-metre thick walls, provides an exceptional atmosphere for the maturation of fine Burgundian wines, maintaining a constant level of temperature and humidity. Known as ‘Le Bastion de l’Oratoire’, it is one of only five such buildings still present in Beaune.

The terrior comprising of clay and limestone is perfect for Chardonnay to excel. This excellent Burgundian is pale yellow in colour, tastes of citrus and stone fruits, very well balanced with a long refreshing aftertaste.
