Luddite Wines who produce this excellent Chenin Blanc is run by Niels and Penny Verburg who pride themselves on farming conscientiously with minimum mechanisation and let their passion dominate their delicious wines. Their percentage blends vary year to year, but Chenin Blanc is always the dominant grape, with about 75-80% of the blend which is initially fermented by itself. Viognier is added later along with Blanc Fume allowing all the grapes to ferment in oak barrels for about 6 months. This provides a well structured, refreshing wine with green plums to provide a long finish, a great wine.
