Sitting on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills, Stellenbosch, with panoramic views of Table Mountain, Table Bay and False Bay. The Zevenwacht Estate derives its name from the Dutch "Seven Expectations” is a modern winery with a 300-year history. This very easy, drinking wine, is a blend of Syrah, Grenache and Mouvedre, grapes that are well suited to the warm dry climate. Syrah dominates with 52%, Grenache 42% and Mouvedre 6%. It is purple red, with hints of violets, dried spices and black fruits and dark chocolate on the nose. Having had 16 months in French oak barrels before being blended. A multi layered wine that has length and is medium to full bodied, balanced by acidity. It can age up to 5 years. Excellent with a hearty stew or leg of venison.
